About Us
ACUTENSION comprises a team of multi-skilled, multi-talented personnel, each of whom possesses many years’ experience in the field of hydraulic bolt tensioning. Our combined expertise spans several decades of working in the industry; whereas our group expertise runs into centuries of experience!

ACUTENSION was co-founded by Phil Jarvis in 2019, with a simple vision and purpose.
The vision was to address management appraisal of the current marketplace, in that – whilst torque technology has made some significant technological advances in recent years – the same cannot necessarily be said of tension OEMs. Our critical analysis of the bolting arena is that tensioner OEMs have not adopted advancements in new technologies, materials and concepts quite so readily as their torque OEM counterparts. Many aspects of both product and practise are as they were 20 or 30 years ago; which is at odds with an ever-changing world demanding greater value-added.
Thusly, a significant opportunity exists for a well-positioned and independent, new OEM to capitalise on this. ACUTENSION is that OEM.
OUR MISSION
Our purpose is to enhance tension product offering to global energy industries, beyond that of currently available product offerings.
Significant progress towards our achieving our goal has been made since our inception. In 2020, ACUTENSION moved into state-of-the-art 4000 square-foot premises in Telford, UK, and have invested significantly not only in stock, testing facilities and software, but in IP also (ACUTENSION currently have a number of patents both pending and granted).
Together, we have incepted new concepts, which will greatly accelerate bolting operations; yielding much greater added-value to our clients.
When working with ACUTENSION – and no matter your bolting challenges – you can be assured that we have seen and indeed solved them before.
All of our management and staff possess the same drive and passion that encourages innovation, and allied to our experience it positions us perfectly to solve the bolting challenges of both present and future.
